HHE members: Charter members since 1991
Why we are HHE members:
Mel: Because I think it is important to promote IU with our legislators in order to get the best support possible for higher education.
Molly: I was influenced by Sue Talbot’s early remarks. Among her statements: “This is a nurturing of loyalty without a price tag.”
What is most rewarding as HHE members:
Mel: Meeting other HHE members and getting to know our legislators.
Molly: Joining with friends to extol the accomplishments of Indiana University. And learning the basics of state government and how to petition legislators for their support.
Why it’s important for alumni to actively advocate for IU:
Mel: We need to be a constant reminder of just how important higher education is and the role IU plays in promoting it!
Molly: Only a college education offers intangible gifts that last a lifetime!
